Anna's birthday

Anna had 2 party's this year.  One on Saturday for our families and one on Tuesday (her actual b-day) with friends.  I don't think I'll do the 2 parties again, to much hassle it's easier to just have one big party.  Her theme this year was animals, the plates and such had a lion, giraffe, zebra and monkey.  Anna's favorite is a monkey so I made her a monkey cake.  Luckily the monkey is purple which is her favorite color too.  The cake turned out pretty good and I only needed a little help from my mom!

Anna loved her oh-oh-ah-ah and even was able to plow out the candles herself!

She had a lot of fun playing with the family and was sad to see them leave.  She loved every present she got though.  Even the clothes and towel!  She played with them all on Sunday.

Then came Tuesday.  Eric and I had given her her roller coaster on Saturday and she enjoyed it but Tuesday we gave her a new "wee slide"....She was in heaven.   It is meant to be a wading pool at the bottom but she is perfectly happy with it without water.

She has played with it almost non-stop since Tuesday morning.

Once I started decorating she knew she was having another party.  She sat at the table saying 0h-oh-ah-ah then blowing.  I felt bad I hadn't made her another monkey cake.  Just cupcakes this time but she wasn't disappointed.  Once everyone got here we made finger puppets.

Then before everyone left they posed in there cool sunglasses.
Anna then, in true Anna style, slept most of the rest of her birthday away.  We had to wake her up at 4:30.  As you can see she was still tired.

All in all it was a good few days though.  Anna really enjoyed it all.  Can't wait for next year!

Sunny day

Anna was up early from her nap today since she has figured out how to open her door.  So we took advantage of the nice weather and went out to "wee slide" as she calls it.  Of course when we got outside she went straight for the sand box. (She loves to say wee slide but not necessarily going on the slide)
Anyway, here is her sand play in pictures.

First she takes of her shoe
s and socks....

Then she played for awhile....
She found an elephant so it got a kiss.

Then she saw a "beeble" (all bugs except for ladybugs and flys are beebles)

"Hi Beeble"

I hope her nose doesn't drip on "beeble"

Can you see "beeble"?  He is the black dot on the side of the sand box.  I think he was a gnat of some sort.  I know I took entymology but that was like 12 years ago and there are too many bugs to  remember them all.

WOOHOO!

She finally did it.  Anna has ben interested in using the potty for a long time, I'd say at least 5 months.  I got her a potty chair and she will sit on it for hours, no joke over an hour at a time, but she never would actually go.  So tonight when she said "poop, Anna, poop" and headed for the bathroom I didn't think much of it but took her in anyway.  She sat there and pushed out some toots.  It's classic she grunts to show she's pushing.  Then she got down and played, got back up and pushed, down and played, you get the picture.  Then while just sitting on the potty talking to mummy and daddy out came a poop!!!!  We were all so excited.  She looked at it, let daddy wipe her, and then said "bye-bye poop" and flushed it down.  Then she wanted to sit more play more...next thing you know I here some tinkles in the potty, she peed too!!!!

I am so proud of her.

I recently switched her to cloth diapers and I think that has really helped.  Not only can she tell when she wets but she likes to watch us wash out the poops into the potty and flush them away.  I think that has helped her to understand that's what the potty is for.

Now we'll see how long till she does it again ;-)

Piano

I watched Jenna on Friday the girls started the day relaxing on the Care Bear couch.

Then they decided it was a hat day.  They played for quite awhile in Anna's hats. The hat Jenna was wearing kept falling over her eyes but she didn't care.  I had to mention it because I thought the pics were too cute.

Dad brought my sister's old piano to us today.  She is getting a new to her, nicer piano and my dad wanted Anna to have a piano to "play" with.   They barely got it in and she wanted the bench by it so she could play.

She sat and played for at least 5 minutes.  I think it made it all worth it for my dad.

So they played a duet.

Now I guess I'll have to get some sheet music.

Hair is genetic.

Gram, Granddad, and MacDuff came for a visit(my parents and their dog).  Anna was thrilled because she loves MacDuff, Granddad and Gram aren't to shabby either.  They brought with them some hand-me down toys from my sister.  Anna thought it was christmas all over again.  She got a Carebear chair and couch and a FisherPrice farm and circus.  She has only stopped playing with them long enough to eat and sleep.

When my dad woke up this morning it was VERY apparent where Anna got her hair from.

.

I guess hair styles are genetic.

Last few days.

So I've been slacking on blogging, no big surprise.  Time to catch up.  Eric had 2 "snow" days last week.  So Anna had a big girl undies day.  No luck she still sits forever but doesn't go.

The next day was giggles and wiggles class which she loves.  But Daddy had to clear the ice off the car first.

Then she was ready to go

She made a mouse puppet

danced

and played

Then last but not least was the Super Bowl.  Dannette, Mike and Jenna had a party.  It was a lot of fun.  The girls had a blast.  Anna actually staid up for the whole game, probably because she wanted to make sure the Steelers won.  Of course, today she woke up and threw up all over her bed.

Dip is it!

So today started out with Eric getting the day off for ~1 inch of snow.  I'll never get used to MD snow policies.  That also meant no Zumba class for me today :-(  Then while trying to get Anna to eat her oatmeal, which she loves and usually eats a ton of but after saying she wanted it wouldn't touch it, Hamish had a very mild seizure.  I am still very upset about it.  It only lasted for 2 seconds but he hasn't been himself recently and I worry that there is something wrong.  He's only 8 but I dread him getting sick and one day dying.  However he spent the rest of the day all happy and energetic, I think it's cause we were all home all day and he loves having us here.

We spent the rest of the day just playing.  We were going to go out in the snow but it didn't seem worth it for the little bit there was.

Anna loves her new Cars bed.  I was going to get a princess one but Target had them on clearance for 1/2 off and they only had Cars, Hannah Montana, and High school musical.  That was an easy decision.   We wanted it for her because she won't stay in a pack 'n play.  When we go to my parents she then sleeps in the bed which puts Eric and I on air mattresses on the floor in another room.  The moment we set it up she crawled in and started sucking her knuckle and rubbing her ear.   Now she puts different stuffed animals on it and says "na na", night-night, then she climbs on.  The second pic is her pretending to be sleeping.

I was really hungry for dinner tonight so I decided to make whole wheat pasta.  I can have alot of it for little points.  But Anna doesn't tend to eat it and after a day of eating 4 bites of oatmeal and most of a small bowl of Chex I didn't hold out much hope.  Then as I was fixing our plates I decided to try a different approach.  I put plain noodles on her plate spirnkled a little cheese on them and then put some sauce on the side and told her it was dip.  She ate 2 plates of it!  She is obsessed with dip.  She even was eating just sauce of her fork by the end, chunks of tomato and all and she doesn't like tomato.  I guess I have to start coming up with more "dip" ideas.
